Someone gave me 100% African Shea Butter - its very thick (and the smell isn't all that great) but I thought maybe someone knows of something else.......
thanks for the input :-)

Sorry Pick, but I have tried everything to fade surgical scars. The only thing that has helped is cordizone injections. The only reason I have gone to that extreme is that I keloid (thick, lumpy scars) that are ucomfortable. Your surgery has been so recent, that you should find the scar less noticable as the months go by.

Hi Fanny....I had my annual checkup with the dermatologist and he said that scaring takes 6 months to 1 year to heal and fade yeah....I guess I am rushing things - its only been 14 weeks.
I understand about the keloids...sorry to hear this happens to you. I will definately PASS on the cordizone injections (ouch). Hope you are well, and thanks for your input :-)

Not sure you can get a cream or gel to make them disappear, but I've just starting a new business through a company called Herbalife.Their Night cream advert says "Skin cells replace themselves faster than any other cells in the body, and do most of their self-repair at night. NouriFusion® MultiVitamin Night Cream contains the nutrients your body needs to facilitate healthy skin renewal. Rich yet light in texture, MultiVitamin Night Cream provides skin with longterm moisturization".
My wife has been using the multivitamin toner/cleanser and moisturiser plus something called sin activator. She has replenished her facial skin and the scars from a fire have virtually gone, also making her skin soft and smooth. These products can only be bought through what is called a distributor.(I am one)These products can not be bought from any shop.Hope this helps. If you or anyone would like to know more please don't hesitate to contact me.

AtomicPuppy, I'm sure you have complete confidence in the product, but this is not the site for infomercials.

I know I can't promote anything as it's against the rules, but I was just trying to help so I gave some info about some products(info was taken from site) and how to get them, not necessarily from me,and what they do without giving links, plus an example.Maybe the last line(in my above post)was a bit too far.Apologises for that.

I think I would have been more comfortable with personal opinion than info from the site.

Yeah, I do too which is why I offered the disclaimer. ^^; but I've not really tried getting rid of scars (fortunately--knockonwood--because I haven't gotten any really obvious new ones since) then.

But it might be worth a shot.

You are correct that "younger" skin does heal faster and better, you are in the process of building new cells every day.
Pink is referring to a major surgical scar that will fade, but I don't believe any product will make it disappear.

Hi Fanny, you wanted personal opinion rather than from a website,I agree with that.
That's why I included the bit about my wife. She is using the products and so far so good, but we are all different. What works for one may not work for another, but it might be worth a try?
I've got scars and I find that with time they decrease in size and fade, though like you said maybe no product will make them disappear for good.

Thanks for all your input - I do appreciate it :-)

Rose...I hope that you never get a serious scar -unfortunately, I was not so lucky - but this scar is a reminder that I am - as of this date - a cancer survivor. I am not looking for it to disappear, mearly fade smoothly.

Right now I am using ScarZone (recommended by my doctor) and cocoa butter (wow..it has such a nice smell!) ...and I do understand that it take time :-)
