If y'all have already gone through this, just point me to the threads but maybe there are some new people since then (well, I know there's me, so...LOL).
Anyway, I am wondering what you guys get spanked for or what you spank your sub for, if you are the dom? How does your system work? I am just a nosy parker and like to get into other people's business!

LOL~~~~at least you are honest, Otter  I get spanked for 3 things: disrespect, disobedience, and dishonesty (the 3 Ds)--Guess those cover a lot of ground!

The 3 D's are probably the most common, but I also get spanked for smoking too much. ( I've been trying to quit ) |

Gee I guess 10 to maybe 20 percent of the time it is for something I did that I wasn't supposed to or not doing something I supposed to, but most of the time it is just to keep me in line, he lets me know just who the boss is and it's not me!!!

We have rules I am suppost to follow but I can't ever seem to do that. I agree with Pillow_girl, most of the time my husband spanks me just because I need it. He can tell when I am stressed & a good spanking seems to calm me down. I can't explain it but I do feel better after a good spanking. Thankfully we are still at the beginning stages of our DD relationship. Once the kids move out we will act on the spanking more. |

If I get stressed, then Hubby knows it's a spanking I need - that's because the stress will cause me to either be disrespectful, disobedient, or dishonest!

My old girlfriend used to spank me...whenever she felt like it! Not that I complained.. I loved it. She would typically put me over her knee, pull my boxers down and paddle my butt with a hairbrush or just use her bare hands..and spank away until my butt was quite red! Needless to say, I had a sore butt for a while after her spankings, but it was worth it haha

I am spanked for the 3D's! I do have specific rules to follow...so most of my spankings are a result of disobeying one of the rules. My Dom has broken my caffeine addiction and now we are working on my diet. I am 5' 3" and 110 pounds...so I'm not losing weight, but I eat horribly and I have Crohn's Disease. My diet is key to going into and staying in remission from it. SO, right now I am NOT to have sweets--which kills me. And, I'm not allowed to skip a meal. I've been spanked 2 times in the last 5 days for breaking this rule. I also have to take my medications on time, get them refilled on time, and make all doctors appointments in a timely manner! I am barely 30 years old, so I HAVE to take care of me, if for nothing else, my kids. So, as much as it hurts, I would be so upset if he didn't spank me! |

I am spanked for 2 out of 3 of the 3'D...disrespect and disobedience. I am also spanked for not walking on the treadmill often enough and for not doing better with my goal to quit smoking. Needspankin, I have IBS so I can relate to what you are saying and I understand that the whole "lower your stress" "keep away from certain foods" "make sure you take your medication" "check with the doctor often" rules can be taxing and sometimes we get fed up with "following the rules" that we forget once in awhile to do one of the above. I am happy that you have someone to help you take care of your disease because I have seen people in the hospital with Crohn's and my heart just breaks for them when their disease is in flare-up mode.  |

Yeah, you all sound pretty much like us. I get it for the 3 D's though we never thought of it that way. I have pretty good control of my mouth (thank goodness, if my hubby had the whole "thinking about sin is the same as sinning", I would be over the couch at least four times a week)so I don't get in trouble for disrespect too much. I have an online friend who gets spanked for "dumb insolence". Meaning he can see on her face that she is thinking of disrespectful things to say and so she gets it. Luckily for me, my husband doesn't do that!
Mostly, I get spanked for disobedience, either breaking rules (which all have to do with taking care of myself or our money) or not doing what I'm told to do. Most of my spankings are for eating the wrong things or not doing my skincare routine (I have eczema) or not taking care of myself in other ways. And then dishonesty because I usually convince myself it's not that big a thing and either lie about it or hide it for awhile.
I also get spanked as stress relief. He knows I need one because I'll start not wanting to be touched. My skin gets all creepy crawly (also related to the eczema and certain brain chemicals). So he'll try to hug me and I'll wriggle away and be kind of whiny and he'll say "Do you need a spanking?" (Yeah, like I'm gonna say yes to that question! Especially when I'm whiny and pouty and in a terrible mood!) So I say, "I dunno, maybe" he hates when people pronounce I don't know like that. So then he says, "well, we can wait until this pissy mood earns you one..." so then I roll my eyes and say, "fine, I guess I need one" and then he says "...and it didn't even take 30 seconds!" It's not as bad as a punishment spanking though because there's no lecture, just the "who owns you? who takes you in hand? who loves you?" stuff. Just reconnecting.
Oh, and then I get spanked just because he feels like it. He says "just to remind you who's in charge". I guess they are kind of like what you guys call good girl spankings but sometimes they do happen when my good girl status is hanging on by a thread, LOL. It's either "you have been really good for the last couple weeks and I want to make sure that continues so I'm just going to remind you who's in charge" or "though you haven't been actually misbehaving, I am seeing some slips in your behavior and I'm going to head that off by reminding you who's in charge" worse than stress relief spankings, but better than actual punishment spankings.

Truthfully, the reason I get spanked is because my husband loves doing and he CAN do it. So it is done, no other explanation needed.

My wife and I primarily engage in playful spanking, but there is an element of discipline occasionally. Usually, its either due to her acting up (which, admittedly, is usually because she wants a spanking, either consciously or subconsciously) or due to some sort of careless and/or dangerous behavior on her part.
For example, a couple years ago, she had a bad habit of leaving her keys hanging in the lock. After a couple of times of just scolding her about it, I told her she'd start getting spanked every time she did it. We have an old mahogany hairbrush that is pretty much reserved for true punishment spankings, and after a couple times of that, she no longer leaves her keys in the lock.
The other time that comes to mind is when she used to dump the contents of our paper shredder loose into the recycling can we keep in the garage. The contents then got covered up with other paper before I dumped the can into our outside can. As you can imagine, the result was little bits of shredded paper all over the driveway. The first time, I told her that if she ever did that again, I'd spank her. The second time (which also happened to be in the rain), I came in the house, pulled her into the bedroom and warmed her little butt good. ;) It hasn't happened since.

I get spanked for the 3 d's as well as my temper (mostly falls under the disrespect category, although it's not alway directed at anyone or anything).

Well, as you know Gary and I are new at this. Seems I get spanked daily now. Mostly for my mouth it needs a lot of taming. Funny thing, I feel so much more relaxed and happier now with this dd lifestyle... THanks you all. Yesterday Gary said, "you are a good wife!" So nice to hear especially since my x made me feel so disposable.. sigh..
