I would like to say this is a hypothetical question, but unfortunately it is not. Most of you here know me well enough to know that this is a bit of an alarm situation for me.
For the last week I have lost complete interest in all spanking related issues. My libido is at zero and I don't feel like it is going to come back.
Sex and spanking have been so much of my everyday enjoyment, along with teasing and flirting. It is bringing me way down emotionally. Is there any hope for me, or is it all over?

Fanny, I know this is worrying, but believe me...your not alone. I too have lost interest in spanking and/or sex for a while, and was afraid it wouldnt come back. I know lots of other people who have gone thru the same thing, some for months and months! The libido and the enjoyment of spanking has always come back.

You've been under a lot of stress lately, and that is usually what causes this. Sometimes depression can be the trigger as well. When your life gets on more of an even keel I think you'll find your spanking interests return.

Fanny, I know this might sound impossible to do, but try not to worry about it too much, sweetie. I don't think it's all over, I just think it could be stress related. You've been under so much stress that it may be taking a toll on your libido.

This time of year is stressful anyway, and I know you've got even more to deal with, so this might be natural. I'm sure it's only temporary as well. You might need to just give it time.

I'm sure you've discussed this with your hubby, but I'm wondering, does this means there's no spanking going on at your house? Do you think a short break from spanking might rekindle your interest? You might start missing what you can't have. The mind is a funny thing, so maybe if your hubby told you no more spanking for awhile, the break might respark your interest. Or maybe you just need a chance to recharge your batteries, so to speak.

Whatever you do, honey, just be sure to take care of yourself and don't get too down about it. We're here for you.

Ever consider a party or meeting up with another couple?

I guess spanking is like anything else in sexual matters, you just need to shake things up every once and a while. You know, do something wild and crazy.

Thanks for the suggestion but, that would be completely counterproductive right now.

Wolfie is correct, I am fighting depression right now, and it is going to take some time to get over this past year.

I hope it gets better soon. But hey, look at it this way - when it does, another stress outlet.

I know exactly how you feel, my husband Jake has been out of work since April, and it totally put a cramp in any kind of spanking or kink behavior. There is just so much stress/dynamices involved, that it's only in the last month or so, I've been really thinking about, let alone reading, writing or posting to blogs about the subject.
So you are not alone,

I know just how you are feeling Fanny. I haven't had any interest in spanking and sex?? well, let's just say I know people do it, I just can't remember the last time I did. And it's been MONTHS. We used to go at it like rabbits...spanking...roleplay...teasing and joking... now...boring. I tried to talk to him about it, it started when he seemed to lose interest. I got so depressed over it, I just seemed to lose the interest too. Plus, I think when I found some posting he did on some other sites made me feel that he might still have the interest...just not in me. So I decided to put it out of my mind. I tried really hard to have holiday spirit, I put on the silly stuff, sang the silly songs, did all kinds of things, but it just wasn't there. I didn't hear one word from my family. So Fanny, you're not alone. And, someday, maybe we will both feel it again.

Hi Fanny,

I'm relatively new to the board but have had some small issues of being depressed in the recent past. This can definately dwindle passion about many things.

The good news is that there there are things out there that can help.

I'm not qualified to give any medical advice but am just speaking from my experience.

I tried the supplement sam-e and it seemed to help pretty well.

Of course there are meds that can help too, just need to talk to your doctor.

You'll get through this Fanny. Sunny days are ahead!

Hi Fanny,

I went through a period last winter where I had very little interest in spanking. In fact, I think I got spanked once in a two month period. My hubby didn't cut me off...I just didn't feel like it.

I've never been depressed, but we were undergoing major construction in our house at the time. Huge sections of the house were gutted, there were workmen all over the place, constant mess/noise/decisions to make...

For something that's supposed to be fun, it was very stressful.

I had never lost the desire before...but believe me...it came back.

Just take a break. Your brain is your real sexual organ. You'll know when you want to wade back in. Don't worry - it will come back. There is no cure for spankophilia.

No cure for spankophilia? Thanks for the valuable piece of information, I'll take your word on it, and keep my fingers crossed.

As a side (but very important note) for those of you afraid to bring it up, my sister did make it to Christmas as her husband was praying for. Her impending death is weighing VERY heavy on me. 2005 was no doubt the most difficult year of my life, chemo SUCKS (but apparently is working) it has been 2 1/2 months since my Mother's death and now I am just waiting for the hopefully final shoe to drop with my sister's passing.

Fanny, I know your having a miserable time of it, I would expect you to be depressed with all your having to deal with. Losing a parent and sibling, your own illness...Im having a hard enough time with just losing mom, let alone anything else. Be good to yourself sweetie, life sucks right now.

I wouldnt worry about spanking/sex at the moment, your poor body and mind are on overload and cant cope. Be patient, spend lots of time with your hubby cuddling and just staying close. When your ready for other things your body will tell you.

You can call me anytime day or night, Im usually home.

One thing about this forum...we can be truthful with each other. Brave face? naw...lost mine long ago. I just take one day at a time. One thing nobody can take away is the love I have in my heart. I love and am loved. So I don't have sex or get spanked...he still loves me..that much I do know.

one day at a time...one step at a time...that way I don't trip

Ok..I haven't told anyone this before but I did go thru some chemo this year, lost some hair, eyebrows but hey...didn't have to shave my legs! I had a lump under my armpit that wasn't a nice one. It was removed and I'm still here to cause chaos, confusion and destruction! What more can I ask?

Fanny, it's strange how so many things seem to weigh in all at once, and they pile up, making "everything" seem rough...with no ending to the bad things in sight. While it's difficult to think...there is much to feel good about too. It's just hard to balance sometimes.

I pulled out of a depression that I denied for many years. (Didn't realize, or accept the diagnosis that I was actually "depressed" until I was out of it, and recognized it myself, in retrospect.) Much of it was related to my getting involved in the "scene." I love my interest, and have no issue with it, and in fact, am out to family and friends, but had difficulty with the casualness that most men have, regarding meeting women and "only playing." I found too many with interest only in what I could "do" to them, or "for" them, with them having little concern for me as a lady. I began to internalize the way I was treated, and it brought me down to a depth I hope never to return. Death in the family and job loss also contributed to the problems, that also brought about health concerns.

I have times when spanking (and many delicious others things ), are the central focus of my fun, and other times when it's sooooo far away, I don't even touch on it in a whisper.

I took care of myself, physically, and was fortunate to get a healthy change mentally from making myself "feel" better. I cope better now, and understand so much more too...about the "scene"...and myself in general.

Life IS good! The alternative sucks, and I know it's easier said than done, but the glass should really be half full. (As an example....think of the poor folks that have an interest in spanking and NEVER enjoy it...EVER! They only think about it.)

Hope things start looking up for you again....or would that be...."you" looking down...maybe at the carpet?

I've also recently came out of a very dry spell with both sex and spankings(dealing with health problems). Sometimes life is just way too difficult, and you don't really feel like "enjoying" anything. I just wanted to share what brought me out of the slump: it was a spanking! I was so emotionally exhausted, depressed, angry and frustrated, that I knew something had to be done, and I got a hard spanking. The emotional release it provided me was unbelievable! I was feeling 100% better, no bad emotions, and the glass was half full again. Few days after I also got my sex drive back, which was missing for over a year!

I don't know if this would help you in any way, but it sure worked for me.

It sounds like you are going through EXTREMELY hard times now, so try to take it easy on yourself. One day at a time! And don't worry about the interest - as everyone said, once you have it, it will always come back. Just wait for the right time. I view it like this: spanking is like delicious food, but if you're bleeding, you're most likely would want to attend to your wound first and then eat. :-)

I'm so glad to hear I am not alone in this situation. I am not as worried now, I am just going to let nature take it's course and wait it out. No more pressure on myself to "perform", and my husband has been very understanding, thank goodness.

YAY for Fanny! I decided the same a time ago. Don't pressure yourself for something like that. I think the chemo had some to do with me having a hormonal imbalance. I didn't know for awhile if I wanted sex or spanking or just having him stand at the door, throw chocolate and RUN. I have off and on depression, good days and bad ones. I've been spending my time lately with my new sewing machine. He is calling it his rival. You see, I don't have to think when I'm sewing. I just have to concentrate on what I'm doing and everything else just goes right out of my brain. Shoot, I don't even hear him when he says something to me when I'm at that machine. And if I put on the headphones and my favorite music, well...let's just say the entire world doesn't exist. We all have different ways of coping. My machine is my sanity right now.

I know how you feel Fanny, right after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, I felt guilty that so many people died and I was alive. I started feeling guilty whenever I started to get a little happy. I felt that I should always be remorseful. And thinking like that killed my sex drive and my spanking intrests. It took a while to get over that negative thinking but the best thing you can do is stay in touch with others in the spanking world like you are doing now. Relax, and take the advice that has been givin earlier in this thread because it is right on point. Anyway I wish you the best of health and prosperity and a new spanking hunger for this wonderful fetish that we have. ----------- spankynyc

I have returned home with a heavy heart, the funeral was beautiful and very difficult and could use some distraction. I still have to get through my 18 year nephew (that we have been raising as our own) leaving for the army on Tuesday. I have been saying way too many good-byes lately and could use some friendly hellos.

Hi sweetie, Im glad your back. We missed you a lot! Perhaps you could help me come up with some ways to brat Mr.B the next time I see him...he's getting way too stuffy, and we cant have that. Poor Ann will die from boredom!

One day at a time kiddo...

Stuffiness? Unexceptable, it is nearly as intoleratable as boredom!

It is good to be back among friends in a fun atmosphere.

Yes, he's quite the stuffy old fart....what can I do to fix that little problem? We must rescue poor Ann from a terrible fate!

Hi, Fanny, great to have you back!

You know, I almost feel sorry for Mr. B if he's going to have to contend with the combined brattiness of you, Wolfie, and Ann...almost!

Due to extreme stress I have been under for the last 10 months, I have made a decision to take an extended trip. I really heed some time to pull myself back together and re-organize my life. No more "would-have, could-have, should-haves" for me. I am going for the gold this year and make the best of what I can while I can. I will be taking a five week trip on my own to a secret place where only my husband will be able to contact me. I need to do this now while I am relatively healthy. I am not yet declared into remission, but my cancer cannot be cured and if I have to leave this Earth early like my sister, I am not going with regrets. Hopefully, this time alone will give me the strength to obtain an extended remission and leave me with some peace of mind. I plan on taking my laptop, so I can be in some communication, but I need to get my head back on relatively straight. Life have just been a bit too rough for me lately.

Take care of yourself first, Fanny, that's what's important now. I'm glad you're going for it, you deserve some time for you. I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Take care, sweetie, and stay in touch. We'll be here when you get back, waiting with open arms.

Oh Sir Wyatt, do you like walking on hot coals? You just know I have to love some Rod!! I run my fingers through that messy hair any chance I get.

You have something better to offer, my dear man?

I'm sorry, but not as sorry as I'm gonna be.
