I've got some thing that works for me, and I'ld like to share it with all of you. Now this may seem a little wird at first, but give it a try: Either by your self, or with a partner, have an ice cube (one for each bum cheek) rubbed until melted even do two if you like, then using a light, or quick paddle, light hair brush, or some thing longer if you're self spanking. We all know what a spanking on a wet bare bum feels like, but this adds so much more sting, and the ice actually keeps the bruising down, or at least takes longer. If you like, just to add a little tingle to it, you can slip any unused ice inside (well, you get the idea). Please let me know what you think.

I don't need anymore sting. But wouldn't the ice have a numbing affect?

Like in the winter when you are out and your cheeks on your face (have to clarify that) get cold and lose some feeling.

Maybe the ice does not make the bottom cold enough to have that affect?

Actually, Ice is only 32 degrees, and that really isn't all that cold, but now, your bum doesn't go numb, because the rest of your body is warm, the ice just melts in giving you a very wet bum. Please let me know what you think. Hey Badwife, i'm waiting for details hon.
Huggs to all,

Be careful when using ice, in any situation. Using it can cause the area to go "numb," and therefore you may not be able to gauge the situation properly. When icing beyond therapeutic levels, to "relieve" pain, you take the chance of causing frostbite, and even nerve damage. Doesn't matter if it's an ice bag, ice cube, or ice gel pack.

The bottom is a fatty area of the body though, and can handle it quite well for a short period of time. That "time" is determined by your own reactions, so be careful to pay attention to how you feel.

When using those Ice Gel Packs, it's recommended not to use it for more than 10 minutes, according to a web article I read, while doing research for an exercise injury. Ice bags, 10-30 minutes, depending on the area used on the body. Direct use of ice no more than between 7-10 minutes....and this can be double for the bottom, according to the article. (my own injury was to the hip...not to far away )

My guess is that the increased "pain" from spanking an iced bottom, is due to the nerves being somewhat frozen, and then smacked into a heated state. It's a trauma. Just be careful if you use this method. Don't over do it.

Well stated Ftop. I agree with you completely. Just because the rest of the body is warm does not say that you can not suffer from frostbite. 32 degrees is cold enough to cause damage, it just doesnt occur as rapidly as when the tempetures are colder.

Due to some thing here yesterday I wasn't able to try the ice thing. I had every intention of doing so but didn't. Actually I really didn't get to spank myself much at all. I am hoping today that I can.

Hey all, I understand your concern about the ice, but I would never sugest any thing of any risk to any of you. I have been icing my bum for self spanking for years, and all that happens is my bum becomes very wet, very chilly, and a little numb, which only last for a few seconds, once the spanking starts, it's just the wet that's left. While ice is frozen at 32 degrees, you don't have the full brunt of 32 at your bum,and the temperature quickly disspates, if any one has ever held an ice cube in your hand, you know that it's just cold, but you can hold it there till it melts, we've all had an ice cube dropped down our shirts, or pants, and have been none the worse for ware

Time for the science teacher to set the record straight....

Actually, that's not true. Ice is only 32°F at the freezing point of water, just as water is 32°F when it freezes. While that is as cold as pure water can get under normal conditions, solid ice can reach temperatures much colder than that. For instance, ice coming right out of the freezer is probably closer to 0°F, the usual temperature of a standard freezer. The ice cap which covers Antarctica gets even colder, as it has reached -100°F at some places there.

Well stated, Ftopinmichigan.

quote:

...ice actually keeps the bruising down...

This is because the drop in temperature causes the capillaries in the skin to constrict, reducing the amount of blood in the area. No blood, no bruises. That said, tissue damage can still occur, particularly if the sensory nerves in the bottom are numbed to the point that no pain is felt.

Have fun, but please be careful....

Well, I feel like I've just been ganged up on, like I said before, this is some thing I've done for years, and didn't mean to start such a deep controversy. All I can say is, this is safe, harmless, and I say this through personal experience, and this is what this is all about, passing on personal experiences to the others for the benefit of every one. I guess I was better off just reading. Sorry all, I never meant to suggest any harm come to any one.

Naughtybry, anytime someone's posts to any message board, they should expect responses...some will agree, some will disagree, and some will blindly take what you, or I will say and twist it so much, that they will either get hurt, or hurt someone else.

I only see the responses here, as trying to clarify, while the ice and technique you've used on yourself is fine, for you, that it may not be for someone else. Someone else, may interpret it to mean something completely different than what you clearly stated in your original post.

Just look at all the disclaimers that come on products these days. (Like...don't use the hair dryer while in the shower. ) People take things and interpret as they will. And some people are quite careless when it comes to thinking about safety (not implying you....the people that end up in ER). Those of us that posted, just wanted to state some facts, regarding the precautionary use of ice and the possible freezing/numbing of skin.

I don't think it was ever meant to slam you, or gang up on you.

I think your idea is fine for self spanker/spankees. It'll work well for them...if done safety.

Don't feel ganged up on...unless that's a good thing.

Yeah, you know what they say.... get another opinion. The more the better. Then you can work out what you wanna try for yourself. I think we all like to hear what others try and learn from their experiences.
