Help please ~ We're going out of town and need QUIET spanking tools. NOT "stingy" - I don't like sting or damaged skin etc.

Any ideas ?

I haven't seen the hotel yet, so don't know if it's very soundproof, and we might end up with people next to our room.

HELP ! I can't go for 3 weeks without spanking. I need stress relief. Hard pain, not sting.

Please give me all the ideas you can and please bump this question to regulars who might have some ideas, if you don't mind.

Thanks for your help ! : )

There are not many hotels that are sound proof!! I know this from experience.

We found that a dowel rod or the vinyl flogger we have are very quiet. Well at least on the implements part.

Since you don't want sting the flogger would be out. You can pick up dowel rods of varying sizes at your walmart. They are not expensive either. Kinda along the same idea as a cane.

I would suggest a rattan cane, rather than a dowel. A rattan cane does not break the way a dowel will.

A cane is always quiet, and has a very, very wide range of application. Rapid, light strokes of a cane can be very very quiet, but the intensity just builds and builds. At the start, the strokes will seem inconsequential, then "interesting", then "Oh-Oh", then "Wow!". A shorter cane, 24 to 30 inches, is a little better for rapid strokes. Once the user gets a feel for it, the natural resonance of the cane and the users chosen frequency will become one, and the sensation starts out at a low level and slowly builds.

If you are flying, and your luggage is subject to inspection, a rattan cane can be used as a flag or pennant handle instead of the hardwood dowel usually supplied.

As a suggestion, ask for an end of the hall room.

This way you can only have someone on one side of you, and hope that room is vacant.

It can also help to ask for a room as high up as you can go. Most people seem to prefer a room closer to the main level.

Thank you to those who answered. Do the canes and dowels make a sting ? I've never tried these, either giving or recieving.

Any more suggestions from others ? We may want to bring several different items to try, and not sure what to bring.

Hoping for non-stingy, ~} inexpensive helps of course.

So many beautifully made items are costly. Since we don't know what we'll end up even liking, (or never using again) I hate to spend much on each item.

Any more suggestions ? Thanks again, Abbie

One other consideration re: dowels. I mentioned they break easily and unpredictably, but they often leave an edge that can cut or sliver.

And, yes, canes and dowels sting. Owing to its greater density, a birch dowel of equal diameter will be a little more thuddy than a rattan cane, but the difference is minimal.

But, really, I don't know of a spanking instrument that doesn't sting. Most instruments just shift the balance between sting and thud. Often, a heavier instrument will appear to sting less, when it is simply a stronger thud component. As and example, some will think that a lighter paddle will sting more than an otherwise identical thicker paddle, or one made of a denser wood. The reality, and the physics are that both generate the same sensation on the surface, but the heavier one adds some deeper pain (the thud component) that is intense enough to take some of our attention away from the sting.

What instruments do you prefer?

Lil Bit.......Our vinyl flogger is not quiet. It is made of 1/2 inch wide strips of shower pan liner material from HD, and makes a lovely clatter.

Hi Thanks for the information. Yes I see what you mean. I'm still learning and have much to learn. What I noticed is (for example) a baking spatula (rubbery on one end, to scrape a bowl with, for cake batter, etc) The rubbery end was more of a thud feeling, more what I liked than the HANDLE of the spatula. The handle was much quieter, but mostly sting.

What's hard is trying to find something that is both QUIET and non-stingy. Very hard to do. A ping pong paddle was worthless. Too much air resistance, and it seems the wider the item, the less sting, but also the more noise.

I'm hoping for Non-Stingy, Less apt to bruise or mark, and quiet, since it's going to be in a hotel. It's not fun if we're worried about the neighbors or management showing up etc, from the slapping sounds. I would think a thin cane would be almost silent, but also very stingy, which makes a huge turn off, so rather not use stingy items.

Non-Stingy
Non-bruising (as much as possible)
Quiet, for hotel use.

I guess that's a lot to ask. : (

One of my posts didn't show up....

What about the paddles that are about 2 1/2 inches wide, some have holes in them, and some don't. They look like they might have a good feel to them.

Not sure how they are on noise, and bruising, or sting.

Has anyone tried those ?

Also, a belt is a good thud feel to it, but seems very noisy. I'd like to avoid stingy tools, and noisy ones, otherwise we worry more about the neighbors and workers etc, and it takes all of the fun out of it. It ruins the whole mood. Know what I mean ?

Any more suggestions ?

Non-Stingy
Non-bruising (as much as possible)
Quiet, for hotel use.

Thanks again ! Abbie

I'd suggest a wooden spoon.

In response to the dowels breaking -- yes they can if you buy the smaller circumferenced ones. You can purchase a larger one and they have more of a thud. Maybe we don't use them as hard as others? As with anything careful use is needed.

I just tried a thick dowel on my ass, and it hurts, almost like it could cause damage. very quiet, but seems a bit dangerous. I think something flatter would be safer.

With dowels, there is a dilemma, at least for us. If they are thin enough to be interesting, they break, and if they are thick enough to not break, they are too heavy. Our own take on it is that a 3/8 inch birch dowel is right in the middle. It is as heavy as we like, but still can break. There is a variation in the grain of dowels, as well, so you gotta flex them at the store to find one with straight grain, which will flex better without breaking.

Rattan is lighter and more flexible than the same diameter dowel, and almost never breaks. When it does break, it is benign, with no slivers or cutting or pinching.

Getting back to quiet, I wonder if gluing some rubber foam, say, from a wetsuit, to the back of a paddle or ruler would muffle some of the smack.

Riding crops can be quiet, too.

I wouldn't suggest a dowel just because of the risk of splitting, but if you were to use one of the thicker ones, I wonder if wrapping it would improve it somehow?

Just a thought.

I suggest a delrin cane, 3/8 or 1/2 inch. More thud than sting in the larger diameters, but will still let you know who's the boss. The thinner the diameter the more sting. The 3/16 inch are VERY stingy!
Delrin will not break, and for the diameter are very flexable.

We just got back from a vacation. We decided before we left that we would not take any instruments with us...we wanted the challange of finding what we would use in the motel and or surroundings. It was interesting to say the least.
I can say that if you keep your eyes and mind open, you can make due.
As for the quiet part...all that screaming and yelling STOP, QUIT...will most likely be louder than the sound of whatever you decide on! (oh, wait...that was me!)

My two suggestions (I've never tried them) would be a larger/thick woven belt. A woven belt will make a lot less noise then a solid one, and with the right amount of force, should provide the sensation your looking for.

The second idea would be a common gardening glove with a rough surface. They are usually gray in color and look like they're made out of leather. This would be just like a normal OTK spanking, but with out the loud slapping noise.

Hope you find this helpful. Also, could someone please tell me if there is a way that I can get email alerts when there are future posts to a thread that I have posted on?

Try a large, thick, over-sized book. The book needs to have enough size to it so that you can grab it with two hands to administer the spanking. It also has to be a thick book with lots of pages and heavy like a dictionary or encyclopedia. Don't use a thin book. It will tend to sting. A nice large, thick book is very quiet but dishes out plenty of punishment if the spanker knows how to use it.

If you do not want sting, then why spank? is this a naive question? Remember that it is not the type of instrument that causes the damage, its the one wielding it. You can always do the spanking at home and then use cloth pegs or something as a toy. They tend to be quiet.

A ping pong paddle works well without too much sting and quieter than a regular wooden paddle. You might also put a radio on to drown out some sounmd but not too loud to draw attention!
