I thought I'd start a thread on O.T.K. because of its iconic status amongst us spankos.
For me it will always be the spanking position and I have a few loose theories as to why, but I suspect others here might have something more concise to say than my unfocussed ramblings.
So what is it about O.T.K.....? |

I think the otk position, is the best for me. reason is, that the man has total control over me. And usually has my hands pinned and legs also. What do you have after that, but to give up the struggle and except what is going to happen to you.  |

OTK is not THAT special with me, though I must say I like it very, very much. I love feeling his body with mine, the way I can start touching his legs when the spanking starts to be harder as if embracing him... a token of love in the midst of pain, as if giving me the feeling of being embraced by him too. Generally, it feels to me much more partership-like... don't want to say more erotic as any harder spanking can make me go crazy, OTK or not. It's in a way more playful, I can try to struggle away and he'll hold me down as a response... other positions are more about pain for me than playing. For me it's not that much about feeling his complete control over me, he has that when he bounds me up, that is THE feeling of him having complete control and me not being able to run away from any single swat delivered... |

Otk is very special to me, especially if its done while on a couch or bed so my body is comfortably supported. I love everything about it!
I love being close to his body, cradled on his lap and able to feel him as he moves against me. I adore the vulnerability of the position...his arm keeping me still and holding my hand if I try and block him, knowing he can make it worse if he clamps my legs still, my bottom totally exposed to his eyes and hand....
I am a traditionalist, as I'm sure many women are. It took me a very long time to come out of the spanko closet, and it was my dreams and fantasies of spanking that kept me going all those years. So its all the traditional things that I gew up reading and hearing about (wasnt spanked as a child) that turn me on today. Just as no other word for the act...such as whalloping, smacking, slapping, whacking does it for me as the word spanking does, no position other than otk can get me more turned on or make me feel more submissive. It's the ultimate in my opinion.

It is very hard for me to pinpoint exactly WHY the OTK is the best, but it is always what I fantasize about! Sure, there are other positions that are mighty fine, but for me it is always OTK! I love the ability to struggle yet feel secure and the vulnerability of it. I am not a submissive at all in my everday life, but I do love the OTK because it does force you to let go and become submissive.

I prefer OTK also, as long as it is a comfortable OTK and not just draped over a straight backed chair with me hanging out on both sides. That is not too comfortable.
I prefer to be held around the waist when OTK, but not my hand held and I do my best not to put it back there.
The Spice of Life is having my OWN WAY!! A spanking would be nice.

I agree with Beachley and Pagan. OTK is best but I like having a little support for the rest of my body as well. Maybe we should start calling it OTL for over the lap like Pagan said!
I'm sure that the reason otL appeals is for the inimacy aspect. In a way it's like getting a hug and a spanking all in one...what could be better than that? |

I think OTK/OTL is the most comforting position of all.....like everyone has stated it just makes you feel so close and so secure. I also like to be over the lap on a couch or bed but it is also nice to be otk with your head to the floor....it does make you feel a little more open and vulnerable. Sinny

I think I would go for that if I could reach the floor with my forearms since I have some wrist issues and it wouldn't be good for me to have to support myself on them. My thoughts on OTK.
When you say spanking to me it means over the knee or over the lap. Other positions can be interesting and efficient for administering chastisement but a spanking means OTK/OTL.
A lady once told me OTK was humilliating and if she had to take a "licking" she would have it over the bed or bending over something. I would never want to truely humiliate a woman I care about but embarrass, humble, remove false pride I have no problen with. Nothing says submission, trust, the giving up of control, respect and love as when a grown woman bares her bottom and lowers herself over the lap of a man presenting her most sensitive and private area for spanking. I have absolute total control and she knows it.
I love the feeling of her weight and warmth pressing on me. Chuck, you have such a way with words. That was very eloquently put. We generally take "the chair" and turn it 90 degrees to the bed. That lets the top of the body be comfortably supported while the lower part of the body is over the lap in the traditional, extremely satisfying, position. |

I have a different take on OTK, not so much in the position itself, 'cause I love it. But in the positioning. He finds it more comfortable if he's sitting on the bed cross legged and I am laying across his knees, my behind on one side and my torso cradled on his crossed legs. I can see taller women having problems with this, but since I am so tiny I fit perfectly. It works for me because I can hang on to his leg during a spanking, (unless of course I squirm too much and put my hand back, then it's pinned to my back). I guess it's just the feeling of security, knowing that I am not going to roll off his lap, and he has total control of the situation.

I guess I'm the odd one of the bunch. OTK is not my favorite position. Probably because I have some intimacy issues. Go figure. Also because I hate dangling awkwardly, head down, legs kicking. Like the postings before say, OTK is an extremely vulnerable and intimate position with all the control in the top's most capable hands. My favorite position is on a bed, pillows under my hips, him beside me or under me, with one hand in the small of my back keeping me still and the other hand....doing the deed. (I'm a wriggler not a struggler so one firm hand is all it usually takes to keep me in place) Generally speanking, my hands are pinned beneath me, not attempting to block and my face is buried in more pillows. I hate, hate, hate, having him watch my face if we're in spanking mode. Anyone else have issues with that?

We actually don't do OTK so much as OTL. I lie across both legs, with my weight more supported. Comfortable for us both.
If we're playing around, and he just grabs me, he always sits and pulls me between his legs, and bends me over one, with my body pinned under one arm.

W and I pefer OTK and it is the position I get most of my spankings in. I like it becasue hecan still touch me and hold me tigter. I am atall person so I don't exactly fit as easy as a smaller person would be we do find a way to make it work.

My first post! I had to convince my vanilla husband to try occasional erotic spanking and now he enjoys it, too. I pushed him off my lap...errrr, leg, and onto the floor. I told him if we were to continue, he could place himself over a few pillows, and I'd use the strap on him. He continued this movement with the pillows and I was gratefully we weren't using MY room.
After the scene, we discussed this antic of his, and he said, "it's what women want."  I didn't ask him which women, but I'm thinking it was just more of that same old wishful thinking again. I don't know a single woman that enjoys having her leg humped, like a dog.
Nice enough man...but I'll never spank him again.
I guess we all have different ideas, and different views on what's good. He enjoyed it...I didn't.

When I used to Top my former partner, I would liberally spread baby oil between my legs and over his...member.
When he went OTK he would put it between my legs. The spanking would end when er...he was done.
Now, we were lovers, so that was ok. Being ground into by a strange man would NOT be ok with me though.
My husband has spanked other women with me there, but never OTK. I don't have a problem with him spanking their bare bottoms with his bare hand...but I would have a problem with him taking them OTK.

Personally I love the OTK. I love the feeling that I'm a little girl and when my panties get lowered, well, that just puts me in orbit. My hubby prefers OTK as well. And he's just so good at it. Plus, the cuddling and events that follow...you just can't find a better way to enjoy each other.

OTK is my favorite position because it's the most intimate. I feel loved when I'm over Jake's lap getting a spanking with his hand, paddle, or brush. I'm spanked and have been spanked in so many positions but with someone special it is so close and intimate.

The type of OTK I prefer is probably really best referred to as OTL (true OTK in my mind means sitting in a chair with the bottom bent over your lap).
The way I prefer (and my wife and most of my playmates, past and present, for that matter) is sitting on a couch or bed with her laying across my lap. Its more comfortable for both parties IMO.
My wife and I will also use a similar position in the bedroom. I'll sit on the edge of the bed with my legs apart and have her bend over my left thigh, so that her torso is resting on the bed, but her feet are on the floor (at least until she starts kicking). This is one of my favorite positions, and its very easy to "hook" my right leg across the back of her legs to hold her in position.

Chris, I would have to say that Jake and I are pretty much the same; I don't know that he has spanked me too much over his knee persay aas his lap but believe me, it's just as effective. And he does the same thing! When I start squirming, he hooks his thigh over me and it's like a deadlock. I can't move; I hate it!
