Thanks Ma vie, but I would hardly say that, I just was flattered to be asked to do it... and Tammy, thanks you, I hope you enjoyed reading it. It's been a strange trip this past week, first Howard, then the Village Voice... crazy...

I guess it is time for Sub 101 classes. I hope we can start clearing up a misunderstood notion that sub does not equal doormat or slave.
I am not judging anyone in the master/slave lifestyle. Everyone has their own choice to make and should be able to live their lifestyle without being called anything derogatory.

True. Most of the subs that I know are strong people full of life and spirit. They have demanding jobs, care for families and loved ones and handle stress on a daily basis. None of them are doormats or would allow anyone to trample on them or treat them disrespectfully.
I think people feel that being submissive makes you less of a person...when it actually can fill a hole in you that you didnt know was there. My submissive side completes me and is a constant delight. I just wish others understood that.

I've been planning to start a thread on this very topic but just have not had the time to do so. I don't appreciate that particular analogy when used to describe anyone in this lifestyle (and said so in a PM to Katie). Like I've tried to stress before, we need to be respectful of each other's kink even if it isn't our own kink.
If anyone is wondering why I let the link to the article stay in, they mentioned my honey's site, Spanking Blog. Sorry, I can't help being biased.
