(Anne had been in a snit for the last week. Neal understood the stress she was under. He was under it also. Like the normal worries in life, responsibilities, work orders, sick pets, family obligations.)
}(Everytime Anne turned around there was someone calling her name, asking her to do something, reminding her of things she forgot.
How hard would it be for someone to do something she forgot to do. That is what she usually done when someone forgot to do something they were suppose to do. That is if she didn't go into a cussing tizzy and yelling "Do I have to do everything" or "Isn't anyone else able to see what needs to be done without having it pointed out to them", "Gosh, Damn all mighty knows". While wanting to strangle whomever had crossed her.
Anne normally isn't so anal. Just when too many things are happening at once and when she forgets that her and Neal are a team and everything doesn't rest upon her shoulders alone.)

For the past week Neal had watched his wife become more and more agitated. More sarcastic and a nasty disposition when the slightest thing went wrong.
Finally after hearing her swearing in the telephone about a someoen at work being a f*&^%#& idiot.
"Anne Marie, you had best watch your language" Neal states while glaring at her with his green eyes like daggers.
Anne gulps, hangs up the phone and mumbles "sorry".(Not really meaning it, the person was an idiot.)
After closing up shop Neal and Anne goes home. While preparing dinner, Neal walks up behind Anne, pushes her long hair off the nape of her neck and gently nibbles her neck. Anne moans and leans backwards to snuggle closer to Neals chest.
The phone rings, Anne heaves a heavy sigh, shrugs away from Neal and picks up the phone after checking the caller ID. Instead of hello, Anne answers " What?" After rolling her eyes and sighing a few heavy sighs and snappy "we'll talk tomorrow okay!" Anne hangs up the phone.
Neal comments on how sarcastic Anne sounded.
Anne already frustrated turns on Neal, hands on her hips, nose flaring, "You know damn good and well, everytime she calls it is bullshit."
Neal grabs Anne's upper-arm and drags her protesting loudly to livingroom.
Neal, eyes glaring, nose flaring, gives Anne several hard swats on her pants covered bottom.
Anne seethes and glares right back at him.
"Go to hell!"
Neal tugs her along to the corner. The corner that Anne hates. They have a huge window in the livingroom which looks out onto the busy street on which they live and no curtains or blinds on the window. So anyone outside can see into the livingroom, every nook and corner. Anne hates this corner because he only makes her stand in it when she has really goofed up, and she hates the thought of someone seeing her standing in the corner like a naughty child.
Upon reaching the corner... "You young lady will stand in this corner until I have everything arranged."
"Noooo, Neal, look please. I'm sorry. I'll call her right back and apologize for the way I sounded. PLEASSSWEEEE"
Shaking his head Neal turns her around places her nose into the corner and gives her a few more swats.
Anne crying.
"Young Lady, I know those swats didn't hurt, but the ones you recieve in a few minutes will. Best save your tears for when you really need them."
Anne stomps her foot. "Young Lady, 15 extras."
Anne stands perfectly still, chewing her bottom lip, and contemplating all the things that she possibly had done the last few days to make him this irritable.
Neal goes upstairs to their bedroom, picks out the Shadow Lane hairbrush, the special plastic paddle, and his leather belt.
Enters the livingroom with a chair from the kitchen table and sits patiently while Anne nervously stands in the corner waiting for the command to come to his side and bend over his knees.

"Success in almost any field depends more on energy and drive than it does on intelligence."
