Beth took in a deep breath and walked back into the shabby living room. Eric was sitting on the couch stroking her cat.
"We introduced ourselves." he said. "She seems to like me."
"Well there is no accounting for taste." Beth said and then immediately put her hand over her mouth.
"Yes well I can see we have lots of work to do here with you." he said. "You have a bad habit of insulting people. That is going to change."
He stood up and walked to face her. He placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her around, pointing her toward the corner again.
"You may go back there while I prepare."

Eric took her hand and led her to the couch. He sat down and guided her to sit beside him. He looked into her eyes and spoke to her softly but firmly.
