Sarah Jane looked at Jacob. For a moment she almost pushed the issue. Secretly she may have like the fact that she could not bully Jacob around. She never had anyone stand up to her or be firm with her. Just a pout got her anything she wanted from her papa. That is what got her Chestnut. They were at a sell and she had to have him. She begged and manipulated good ole John Walker till Sarah got her horse. Jacob knew the way Sarah could be and now the fact she could not take care of the horse, infuriated Jacob.
“What will it be Sarah, do I need to help you? Jacob barked. “No, just give me a minute to get my things together.” Sarah growled. Jacob watched as that young spitfire got her things together. He was having feelings for that brat. He did not want them. He wanted to bust her butt, not fall in love. Sarah went about getting stuff together she did not understand the feelings she was having, a feeling of security. She has not felt this way since she lost her parents.
Sarah got her stuff together. Jacob followed Sarah and her mustang back to the ranch. A lot of feelings were running through his head. What were these feelings? They were taking him so much by surprise. How could he be in love with such a little, spoiled, manipulative, self-centered BRAT? Sarah on the other land was in her thoughts. Who does he think he is bossing me around? He thinks he can just bully himself around cause he has the title of ranch manager. He has another thing coming. I am not the ranch he cannot and will not boss me around. He can take that belt and shove it up his…
Mean while Jacob is trying to figure out how to break it to Sarah that she and her backside are going to pay for Chestnut staying. She will not treat an animal that way and get away with it. No Jacob thought, you act like a child you get treated like a child.
They both pulled into the ranch drive. Both of them were driving toward the stable. Jacob got our to the truck and went to Sarah’s car and opened the door and helped her out. “You and I have some unsettled business.” Jacob said. “To keep Chestnut a price had to be paid.” Sarah’s red temper flared. The brat really needed a sign that says caution brat fixing to explode. “It will be over my dead body, you will not spank me.” Her voice surprised here, her voice was weakening. Jacob looked at the red head, imp. He said “ I will make it your choice or I can go get Chestnut and you and I drive him to the orphanage home, or you can take the spanking you deserve. You have one hour to make you decision. I will be in the office.” Sarah stomped her foot “you can’t do it, you have no right, you are not my boss.” “Your dad would have wanted me to look after you and you know it.” Said Jacob.
Sarah went back to the main house fuming. She told Isabella about Jacob and hers day and the choice he had given her of the spanking. She also told Isabella about the spanking with the belt this morning. She was already sore, she did not think she could take another spanking today. She also told Isabella about how she felt and how confused she was. Isabella just laughed. She said, “I have been wondering when you two would figure that out.” Huh? Said Sarah. Isabella said, “He has loved you since a child.” Yea right said Sarah.
Sarah told Isabella, she had made her decision. Sarah goes back to the stable and stands in front of Jacob. In a small voice she tells Jacob she will take the spanking.
