Standing, enfolded blinking back tears what must be done must be done embracing arms give strength holding Face down nothing between bottom and hand layer after layer of moisturizing lotion sensitizing the skin; apologies begin preparing Facing the walls of the house joined together as they are joined together seeing the conjunction of house and life atonement beginning waiting Face down, bottom right up leg joins leg, together naked body touching naked lap strong hands hold firmly no escape for anyone compelled by necessity quivering Deeds done, and left undone recited, and by the penitent, repeated defaults acknowledged punishment accepted scolding Hurt, then delay anticipation of pain not yet fulfilled knowing what lies ahead, inevitably warming Pain, blossoming heat, as if on fire limits approached and crossed gasping Reddened skin layer after layer turning white blood rushing in, underneath legs kicking frantically pain increasing dancing Apologies, promises tears no longer held back deterrence not yet certain continuing Frantic squirming heartfelt pleading true repentance unbearable ordeal crying Deeds done, and left undone again recited, most sincerely repeated legs still kicking defaults acknowledged punishment accepted gratitude expressed submitting Held firmly touching, body to lap, hands gently caress but permit no escape not yet knowing if it is over quivering Staring, once again naught to be seen except wall meeting wall joined floor to ceiling thinking only of two people joined from head to foot hand to hand, hip to hip atoning Face down nothing between bottom and hand layer after layer of moisturizing lotion soothing the skin; apologies repeated comforting Standing, enfolded blinking back tears what must be done has been done arms embracing, giving strength forgiving. |
