Wow, Changeling, just my opinion....but a riding crop for a first spanking!?! I think you better have a safe word. Personally, I would start a bit slower, but I'm happy for you if you are excited, and thrilled for you, if it turns out to be what you are hoping for.

hi, welcome to the group. I guess Ihave been here a month now. I agree with Fanny, maybe you should start with a good paddling  As for Gary and I, we went from his hand to thin leather paddles to wooden spoons.Currently I am waiting for a punihment implement to arrive from L.T. The punishment spanking is long overdue and a first for us so I hope it arrives today! May you find the happiness that Gary and I have fond.

I think I can take it...heaven knows I've given it, I have been 'turned'.. in my fantasies from childood a sub, my lover wanted a Dom and I did it for HIM now....

You know, a riding crop's not that bad, I mean, it can be really painful, but only if you're going for solid almost cane-like strokes, I'd say with normals smacks from the flat of the crop, it's not a bad implement to start out on. The paddle just hurts, no arguing that. And even the hand covers a larger area. I don't think a crop's a bad thing to use

I used a cane on my sub with no ill effects..
and still have it.

Seems like there are a lot of us babyboomers out there I am 53! I think my new implement is in my apts office.. lol.. I got a pink slip in my mailbox that said, package in office, I went rushing to the office and it said, closed at 2pm (this was at 3pm) pout. my punishment spanking has to wait one more day.. HOPE they are OPEN tomorrow. I have a lot of guilt and G plans to help rid me of it ;)

I am the Dom over my wife who loves to be spanked. I would suggest the you start with a firmhand spanking and have a code word to give if you need more (I am sure he can tell if he should proceed to the crop by how wet you are)

I got into the scene quite quickly.
it's the first time I've ever had to take off that dress one button at a time rather than quickly over my head...and there are about 40 buttons down the front.
Totally exhilerating experience, esp the sensory deprivation of the blindfold.
Time to recuperate in a hot bath. I bruise VERY easily and expect my backside looks like a Rand McNally road map. Crop, cane, paddle, cat and hands..oh my!

Virtually any toy can be used lightly and pleasurably.
We have a child's riding crop (generously provided by one of our 'dear' resident mods), and it's not bad at all. If it's not the first implement we use...I can't really feel it much.
As long as you just use the slapper, and not the stick part, they're nothing to worry about.
We always play with multiple implements. We played last night with a riding crop, a silicone spoon, a leather strap, a rubber strap, and a delrin-lined leather paddle.
Marks? None. Tenderness? Gone in 10 minutes. Sigh. I miss my virgin skin. 
It's normal to mark more in the beginning, Changeling, and it isn't necessarily a sign that the spanking was harsh. But I suspect you know that already.

Good point, Pagen. It think it may be that I am kept so well spanked, that the skin has built up a good tolerance. Also, my husband goes for FULL coverage as opposed to staying at one spot. Therefore I can take a sound spanking with nothing left by bright pink.
