OK...here goes...
I do woodburning and painting of the ancient Native American symbols and designs. I have researched them in great length for years. I also protray the animals in the ways that they are respected as spirit guides.
I also make the crafts in the old ways. I make shields, rattles and in the days when my eyes were better, I did beading.
I design and sew ribbon shirts for either everyday wear or to use as regaila in the dancing. I made myself my own traditional Choctaw dress. (my grandfather was full blood)
I'm learning a cross stitch program to make patterns in ancient designs.
I'm also working on my own top and skirt designs in Native American style for women. I plan to gear the designs toward the larger woman. We might be BBW's but we also like to look smart and feminine. I hope to have the first design ready soon for a prototype.
So that is what I do.
Crafty ain't I? I just like to keep myself busy.
I just finished putting 8 new ribbon shirts together for a showing next week. I'll put pics of them on with a link to a photo album for anyone that wants to see them. I want to get permission for the link first to make sure it's ok.
Take my heart and soul. But please don't step on it, it breaks easily.

Wow! You really are a crafty one, Shylah. Once you get a link, you can post it in your profile so it's handy for anyone to click on. That way they don't have to search through posts to find it should they want to go back and look for it later. It sounds like it should be okay to put a link in a post since it's your online album, but I'll talk to you later about that. |
