As you all know, I love to sew...it's my therapy. I made this ribbon shirt and entered it at a local village hall competiton.

I WON!!!

I was surprised at the reception Native American things got here. I even have 4 orders to fill making more. It certianly lifted my sagging spirits.

It's made from faux suede with white ribbons and gold threads and some beading on the ribbons. the transfer on the back is of white buffalos in the clouds with nesting eagles on the ground. I put that on the shirt because the eagle is my Spirit Guide. The white buffalo is a sign of peace and the eagle is a sign of strength.

I also got some dates to go to schools to do my storytelling of the ancient legends and Native American history.

I really needed this boost. Ain't it grand????

Very nice, Shylah. Do you only sew for yourself or do you sell as well?

Thank you all so much for all your kind comments!

I sew most of the time. I have stuff all over the house I've made and the hubby says I should sell some of it. LOL

Wolfie...I most certainly can make you one with a wolf on it. I just need your measurments (i.e. bust size, length of arms, length from shoulder to however long you want it to be and length from shoulder to shoulder across the back) and what color you want.

Fanny, if I can, I make whatever anyone wants. When one of my daughters got married, I made all the bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl dress.

I went to the website of my tribe and got information on actual traditional Choctaw dresses and made one for myself. My uncle, who is a Namer and Elder, said it was one of the best he's seen...bless him...he loves me.

Shylah, I will send you the measurements, and you can tell me what you charge for such beautiful shirts. Having a traditional ribbon shirt with my totem animal on it will be wonderful.
