Would appreciate it if someone could give me the answer. This riddle was in an old mother goose book. All I can remember is the riddle.

12 pears hanging high
12 knights riding by
each knight takes a pear
Yet 11 are left hanging there!

I know two riddles that are like this. The answer to this one is that the name of the knight who took the pear is "Each."

The other riddle is:
Three riders riding by,
Three pears hanging high,
Each rider takes a pear,
But leaves three hanging there.
