Her heart beats with rhythm
She lies alone and hears
the beat beat beat of a heart
Her face covered in tears.
How can something so broken,
Beat so strong and loud
It must feel the sunshine
She only sees the clouds.
Pieces of a broken heart
He holds in his hand
The man who she gave her heart
Now holds pieces like sand.
So confused she quietly lays
Listening to the beat
wondering how long until
the beating learns defeat.
Somewhere from within,
Strength she finds
To get up and rise again
To renew her confused mind.
She seeks to find
Someone who is a friend
To dry her tears she cried
to show her the heart can mend.
To show her she is loved,
That life will go on,
To hold her hand and lift her head
and to give her strength to move on.
