So I reciently discovered i was preggo with my first child. Not exactly planned but totally welcomed. My question is ever since i concieved i've like become a big wimp, even before we knew about the baby i started not being able to take spankings and not even really wanting them as much as i did before. Im wondering if those ladies who have kids remember being super sensitive while they were pregnant.

I don't have a real answer for you there Phillyvixen, but I definitely have the same curiousity as you! I was also wondering if it's harmful to take an over the knee spanking or any kind of spanking on your stomach or whatnot while being pregnant, and if not, how long can you do it for? I have that in the back of my mind since I don't have kids as of yet, but will someday...

Hope some answers come your way on this one! I will be watching to see what the others say!

Hmmmm, we were not into spankings until after we had our kids so I don't really know but I would imagine that you still could do it but you would have to come up with different positions. I couldn't imagine doing OTK with a big belly but I don't know. I know your senses can change when you are pregnant so yeah that is possible. I would say just take it easy while you are pregnant and only do what you can tolerate. Thats a tough one, its not like you can ask your doctor, "Hey, can my husband continue to spank me while I am pregnant?" That would be awkward. Congrats on the new baby though! Now you have to start thinking about how you will do the whole spanking thing and not wake the baby. When they get older you definitely don't want them to hear daddy spanking mommy! Thats when you have to get creative, lol!

OK I was spanked during pregnancy - both erotic and punishment. Just casue you can't be OTK doesn't mean you cannot get spanked. ... as I quickly learned. My husband never marks me so I cannto say any of my spankings are brutal or very harsh but I do know while I was pregnant with all 3 of my boys I got spanked.
As for hypersensitivity... I think at time I was - probably due to harmones. I am a very sensitive person anyway so a simple scolding can make me pout...add harmones to the mix and I was a blithering wuss. It takes a lot of patience on both your parts to get though it but you can do it. BEST of luck! OH! and most importantly...CONGRATS!!!

I was spanked right up until the baby was born.

You don't have to be on your belly...there are other positions.

Just because this worked for me and others...doesn't me it will work for everyone.

You have to listen to your body and you have to have really GREAT communication with your partner.

Please use caution until you know what you can handle.

Just a word of caution. Medical professionals more and more are actually reporting suspected abuse. If you show up at the OBs and there is a bruise, explaining that it occured during an erotic spanking game will let them off the reporting hook.

I'm not so sure that telling them it was an erotic game will let them off the hook about reporting their suspicions. It's all about what they suspect, not what you tell them.

You can tell them it was consensual but they've heard the stories women tell to cover up their abuse. The classic stories are that they walked into a door or fell down some stairs. I've heard that some health providers are more suspicious because they don't believe kinky play really can be consensual if someone is getting hurt. They don't get it.

It doesn't even have to be your doctor you have to convince; all it takes is one suspicious nurse or tech to rock the boat. It really just depends on your providers and that means everyone who sees you.

Your best bet is to take it easy and don't leave marks when you know you're going to see your doctor. I'm very careful anymore since I changed doctors. My current dr's nurses are really honed into women's issues and are well-trained about asking the "right" questions. Luckily, I've never even showed up with one bruise or other mark because we're careful that way. I have shown up with various other problems that could have been injuries but they weren't.

Oh, and no one suggest I change my dr, she's very competent and I really like her. I've been to enough dr's lately that it seems to be a trend now with the support staff and not just hers.

Also, I used to do volunteer work with abused women and there are signs you look for to gauge when they're covering up. So unless you can look the person asking straight in the eye and not look away, blink, blush, stammer, or otherwise seem uneasy when you tell them you got that bruise from an erotic spanking, I wouldn't go there. It could make them suspicious and that's all they need.

Good luck!

I AM one of those nurses. And you're correct, we do have a legal obligation to report, but some of that is at our own discretion. I wouldn't volunteer the information, but if questioned, that answer is more likely to be believed than trying to cover it up. I live in a major metropolitan area. It may be different in other parts of the country. Agreed that it's better not to have a bruise at all, but accidents happen. It's better to be prepared than caught off guard.

Congratulation and best wishes. Got a due date yet?

I have family members in the health industry (including a nurse administrator) so I know only too well how it works. We've discussed this topic at length and the bottom line is it's their decision and with pregnant women there's always the concern that although the mother can consent, the baby cannot.

Yes, Lyn, you act or don't act at your own discretion, not anyone else's and some people don't have the understanding of this lifestyle that you do. There is no standard (as you yourself pointed out, some of it is up to you) and some people see what we do as wrong and all it takes is one nervous health care worker to make your life a living hell. I've seen it happen to a friend of mine (in a very large metro area btw) and it wasn't pretty when child services came knocking on their door.

I don't mean to scare y'all but I want you to understand the risks. Some health providers are understanding and some are narrow-minded busybodies who won't understand at all.

I wasnt even thinking about the bruises. But now i will make sure we are extra careful. The kind of spanking it takes to bruise me is much more then I can handle now anyway. A simple hand spanking has me squirming like a fish on a hook and begging him to stop. Oh and my Estimated Due date as I calculated it is Feb 14 2008. I have my first dr apt on july 12 so i should know better then.
Thanks for all the replys, and I will keep everyone updated

Congrats on your expecations!

And as another nurse, I would be very careful about letting anyone in health care know of the spankings, especially while pregnant. Part of that is that we have a duty to report suspicions of abuse, part if it is also the fact that statistically abuse most frequently starts or escalates during pregnancy or shortly after birth of first child. So most health care professionals are on extra alert around that time.

I was spanked throughout my pregnancies and was able to go OTK up until the last month or so. My belly just fit between his thighs. After that I can truthfully say that I was just too tired to think much about playing, spanking et cetera. Also, my sensitivies were heightened so it didn't take much for me to feel it, therefore he was very careful.
