Riddle No. 1: David was out for a walk when it started to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?
Riddle No. 2: From house to house I go, sometimes narrow, sometimes wide. And whether there's rain or snow I always stay outside. What am I?
Riddle No. 3: Little Nanny Etticoat, in a white petticoat, and a red nose; the longer she stands, the shorter she grows. What is she?
Riddle No. 4: A beggar's brother died, but the man who died had no brother.
How could this be?
Riddle No. 5: I'm the part of the bird that's not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?
Riddle No. 6: You are on a ship, over the side hangs a rope ladder with half meter rungs. The tide rises a half meter per hour. At the end of five hours, how much of the ladder will remain above the water assuming that nine rungs were above the water when the tide began to rise?

6. Okay I'm bad with math...but I say 9 ???
How did I do?? a couple of these I knew already and the rest I had to figure out. |

#1. David is bald 
#3. a candle

#5. a shadow
#6. I think the answer would be the same since the ship floats and rises with the tide

me too...I thought I had some hard ones and everyone got them real fast. I have to dig out some old school papers. I know there were some real hard ones that I'm forgetting. |
